This is my first real attempt at sculpting something on my own (as in not a class assignment), and I think it turned out far better than I thought it would! I’m not as bad as I thought I’d be, though there is certainly a HUGE amount of room for improvement…plus I couldn’t do as much near the end since I waited so long and clay is a really tricky medium for the passage of time. (I apologize for the poor webcam quality) Anyways, taking a picture now just in case this little guy gets wrecked in the kiln, though I WOULD like to underglaze him (and maybe sand some of the rougher parts). And if he turns out nicely, I’ve got a Jadesprite friend in the works for him as well! ‘u’
(also I plan to work on getting better at digital art and such as soon as I hit summer break. My schedule got pretty booked due to college applications and other things with loose ends in need of tying up, but SOON I will be able to start dicking around with sai again, and idk maybe some other programs too.)
By the way, for anyone that works with clay often: As soon as this school year is up, I’m gonna lose my clay supply, so I was wondering if sculpting with that crayola model magic junk proves fruitful at all, or should I invest in sculpey? Or maybe even just suck it up and keep buying my own clay bags? I’m gonna sculpt pretty casually, since I consider it more of a hobby than anything, so if there’s any recommendations that would be nice!
